changing policies midstream during a war is like changing a head coach at halftime of a football game

If you are losing at halftime and your strategy isnt working, you have to change your gameplan.

you make halftime adjustments.......you dont completely abandon the gameplan and change the coaching staff

The problem with R13's logic is ..............well, there isn't any.
The stupidity and the ignorance he is infected can easily be explained. Just a lack of intelligence. But he has no problem stepping past the truth to try and make a point. And being a liar is more of a character issue. Of course given his political views that also is easily explained.

So you're saying that 90% of black people voting for Obama doesn't sound racist? I myself wouldn't mine one bit to vote for a sensible black man. I have been an Alan Keyes supporter for some time. But he is too sensible to pick up any ground. Why didn't the black community support him? Becuase he isn't a proponent of the welfare state?

Now I will give Mandella credit for helping to bring an end to apartheid in that country, but that does not mean he was able to run a country. Just like it doesn't give Nobama the ability to run this country because he is black. If any of you think that either Nobama or McCain can change our economic problems, then we are in serious trouble. We need a change at the core of our political system to effect change economically and by that I mean that we, as a people, need to elect a congress who will look after our interests, and not big business.

Even in our colonial history, corruption was rampant. That is the biggest reason David Crockett left congress. He saw what the problem was and nobody wanted to help to change the direction our country was headed.

People also say that Lincoln ended slavery, but slavery was on the way out anyway. The southern states didn't seceed to keep slavery. They seceeded for economic reasons, that being they couldn't compete for federal money to help them. Most of the money was going to the nortern states for industrialization and big business.

Even when FDR took office, it took 11 years to bring us out of the depression, and even then it took a war. A lot of his programs didn't work.

And with the Vietnam war, with Kennedy and Johnson building troops up to win a politally charged war, it was Nixon who brought the troops home, a republican, not a democrat. Kinda like the same thing happening today except the party roles are reversed. Nixon offered change and we got it. Both parties now are offering change, but which one will work? Nixon's change didn't work, and now if elected, Nobama's won't work either. If we change our policies midstream during war, it won't be good for America. </div></div>

    wow

to minimize nelson mandela's accomplishments is flat out wrong.
a country that had him in prison for thirty years for being outspoken elected the same man president? he ended apartheid, the most important thing to that country.

but i agree people tryin to get obama elected jus to make history is sad.

no matter who the candidate is, im always pro-education, so if someone is trying to say dont use all the facts, use his color, its stupid.
    real stupid.

Re: another reason voting shouldnt be a blanket right

So R13 ... have you seen any white groups going door to door telling people not to vote for Obama because his is black ??? or to vote for McCain because he is white??? People might vote because those reason but no one is going door to door telling them to. That's the difference.

Re: another reason voting shouldnt be a blanket right

This whole thread was made by BWC who says there is a group up there in Jersey doing this - I dont even know how he knows, he's not even black. There doesnt have to be a group to come out and say it. You got the Mccain campaign implying he's a terrorist and christian groups saying he will let the gays run wild etc. Many polls show that his race will cost him 6 points come election day.
